It was ‘Candidates Night’ at the Hillsborough Republican Club’s May meeting Monday night. The Club welcomed various local and state candidates to meet Club members and speak about their priorities for their campaign and beyond. Candidates that were able to attend included John Ciccarelli (Hillsborough Township Committee), Tom Kean (Congress, NJ District 7), John Sheridan (Somerset County Sheriff), and Darius Mayfield (Congress, NJ District 12). They are pictured above with Hillsborough Mayor Shawn Lipani.
Ciccarelli shared his desire to give back to the town where he and his wife Kim raised their two daughters, and how his expertise in engineering and business uniquely qualify him to meet the current and future challenges here in Hillsborough. Tom Kean spoke on a host of issues, including fighting inflation and restoring security at the southern border. John Sheridan, a retired Hillsborough detective, with 13 years served as Hillsborough’s Director of Emergency Management, spoke about bringing fiscal responsibility back to the Sheriff’s office. And Darius Mayfield shared his impactful message that young Americans today have friends of all races, and how it is the career democrats that have continued to use race to divide us. #NotBlackNotWhiteAmerican https://www.dariusmayfieldforamerica.com/ Also in attendance were Cathy Callahan, Chair of the Somerset County Federation of Republican Women and Janet Linnus, the 2022 recipient of the 29th Annual Millicent Fenwick Award.
